The new ideas at play overtake the original story entirely as Sephiroth and the whispers take control of everything that matters.

Constant issues where with low res textures and pop ins slightly damper the experience. When you interact with npcs there is sometimes a 14 sec pause until the cutscene shows.
Amazing combat, characters, story, and a surprising amount of content. The combat was a lot better than I was expecting. Except when it's daytime; Midgar in the day just looks wrong. Sometimes fights can get a bit too chaotic for their own good or enemy balance can be surprisingly easy but overall combat is good fun, I just wish there was more of it. Time ghosts are peppered throughout scenes to explain the various retcons in FF7 remake's altered retelling of the original story. One of the best FF games in a while.Just amazing, cannot wait for more. Let down by some filler, odd character choices, and new story developments which seem to overshadow the intent of the original.Amazing music!! However, there are a fair amount of graphical issues with some poor textures (that really stand out because of how good everything else looks), and the game doesn’t stick the landing story wise.Went in with a base knowledge of the original ff7.

Tifa is an amazing character being nice and helping you out in town with specfic quests. That extent being that you can give commands to your party.
The characters were so lovable. I've never played the original, however even I noticed there were some serious issues with timing.
It has its faults, but boasts a MARVELOUS art direction, with very high production values for visuals and audio assets. I'm certain I'll have to replay this again, but tbh I don't have much of a problem with that.It's a great game.. until it isn't.
